In short

1. Who we are

CVBanao is an Android app that helps you make resumes. It is run from India ("CVBanao", "we", "us"). Questions or requests about your information: support@cvbanao.in.

2. What we collect

InformationWhy
Google account: your name, email address and a Google user ID, when you sign in with Google. To create your account and sign you in. We do not read your contacts, files or anything else in your Google account.
What you type into the app (My details): for example your name, mobile number, email, city, date of birth (only if you add it), education, work experience, skills (and, if you choose, how good you are at each), the job title you put under your name, links, projects and certificates. To fill your resumes, and to back them up so you get them on a new phone.
Your photo (optional): only if you add one. The app makes a small square copy of the picture you choose. To show it on the resume designs that have a photo spot, and to back it up so it is on any phone you sign in on. It is kept in private storage in India, separate from your other details, and is deleted when you remove it or delete your account (a hidden safety copy can remain for up to 7 days before it is removed for good). Skip it and nothing is lost: you can also leave it off any resume.
Your voice (optional): only if you tap the microphone to say an answer instead of typing it.The app asks Android's speech recognition on your phone to turn your voice into text, which may be processed by Google under its own policy. CVBanao never receives or stores the sound. Only the words you choose to use are saved, like anything you type.
Your resumes: title, design, colour and the choices you make, and the summary you write. To make your PDF and to back it up.
Passes, credits and payments: your credits balance, a history of credits earned and spent, whether you have a pass and when it ends, your free-trial downloads, how many ads you watched today, and for purchases the pass, the amount in rupees and the Google Play order number. To run passes, the free trial and credits, show your history, handle refunds and keep the records we must keep. We never see your card, UPI or bank details: Google Play takes the payment.
Invites: your own invite code, and if you enter a friend's code, whose code it was. If someone uses your code, we count it (not who they are beyond their first name, shown only to you in your credits history). To give both of you the invite credits and to limit abuse. Removed when you delete your account, except the credits history lines, which are kept without your name.
Your phone: a random ID the app creates for your phone, and a check from Google (Play Integrity) that the app is genuine and running on a real device. To give the welcome gift only once per phone and to prevent abuse.
Ads: when you choose to watch a rewarded ad, Google, which provides the ads, may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and device details. To show the ad and confirm that you watched it, so you receive your credits. See Google's policy at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Your ad choice: if you switch on personalised ads, that choice and when you made it.To respect your choice. It is kept on your phone and removed when you sign out.
Crash reports: if the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent to Google. It contains the error, where in the code it happened, the app version, your phone model and Android version, and a random installation ID.To find and fix bugs. A report never contains what you typed into the app, your photo, or your voice. Google keeps these reports for 90 days.
Technical records: short-lived server records such as errors and request times. To keep the service secure and to fix problems.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, voice recordings or messages. We never look through your photo gallery: the app only receives the one picture you pick for your resume photo, using Android's own photo picker.

3. How we use it

4. Who handles your information

We use these companies to run the service. They process information for us under their own terms and privacy policies:

Your information may be processed on servers in India or in other countries where these companies operate.

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the companies above, or when the law requires it. A resume you download and send to someone is shared by you, not by us.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account (see how to delete your account), we remove your profile, your details and your resumes from our servers. We keep two things without your name or email: the credits history and payment records, because money records must be kept, and a random phone marker, so that deleting and signing up again cannot earn the welcome gift twice.

6. Your choices and rights

You can see and change your details in the app at any time. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may also ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or take back your consent. Write to support@cvbanao.in from the email you signed in with. We aim to reply within 30 days.

Ads

Watching an ad is always your choice. By default, ads are basic: they are matched to the topics of the app, such as jobs and courses, and are not tailored to you using your phone's advertising ID. If you would like ads that suit you better, you can switch on personalised ads in the app under Account → Ad preferences, and switch them off again at any time. If you are in a region where the law requires it, such as the European Union or the United Kingdom, Google also shows its own consent form, and you can reopen it under Account → Privacy options.

You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings, under Privacy → Ads.

7. Security

Information travels between the app and our server over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Every request is checked against your Google sign-in, and each person can only reach their own information. No system is perfectly safe, but we work to protect yours.

8. Children

CVBanao is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has used the app, write to us and we will delete the account.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.

10. Contact and grievances

Grievance officer: CVBanao Support, support@cvbanao.in. We aim to reply within 30 days.
